El Dorado, AR – The members of South Texas Stampede showcased their culinary prowess and competitive spirit during an action-packed weekend in El Dorado. From a Friday night SCA Steak Cookoff to two SCA Steak Cookoffs on Saturday, the team left their mark on the grilling scene, leaving behind a trail of mouthwatering flavors and impressive results.
On Friday night, Daryl Maune displayed his grilling finesse and secured a respectable 5th place in the Steak Cookoff. His sizzling steak delighted the judges and affirmed his position among the top contenders.
Saturday’s cookoffs brought even more excitement and triumph for South Texas Stampede. Evan Warren and Marty Plute tied for first place in Steak A, an outstanding achievement. As per SCA rules, the Golden Ticket was passed to Trinidad Rodriguez, who claimed a commendable 4th place. As a seasoned griller, Trinidad will once again compete in the highly anticipated SCA Steak World Championship in March 2024, adding to the team’s legacy.
Raymond Patterson continued his impressive streak, securing a remarkable 5th place in Steak A. Daryl Maune also demonstrated his skill by placing 9th in the same category, solidifying his status as a formidable contender.
In the Steak B category, Daryl Maune continued to shine, claiming an impressive 3rd place. His consistent top-10 placements throughout the weekend showcased his talent and dedication. Raymond Patterson followed closely, securing 4th place, while Evan Warren displayed his grilling finesse, earning a respectable 9th place.
The Ancillary Cookoff, featuring Wings as the category, witnessed Norma Maune’s culinary artistry. Her delectable wings landed her an impressive 6th place, a testament to her expertise and creativity in the kitchen.
The next generation of grillers also made their mark, as Cameron Patterson, son of Raymond Patterson, claimed first place in the Kids Steak competition. His impressive skills at such a young age promise a bright future in the grilling world.
